Job Description:

The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites applicants to apply for a Lecturer position in the Batten School. The lecturer will teach courses in comparative social policy and related topics. Ideal candidates will also be able to teach core courses in a variety of areas, including quantitative methods, in the Batten School undergraduate and MPP programs. This is a renewable, non-tenure track position.

Candidates may come from a range of disciplines including political science, economics, and public policy. A PhD, relevant teaching experience, and the potential to conduct high-quality research is required. Experience teaching and conducting policy-relevant research using cross-national data sets is desirable. The Batten School is strongly committed to enhancing faculty and student diversity.

Built upon the strong foundation of one of the nation's top public universities, the Batten School combines rigorous training in policy analysis with a unique emphasis on the acquisition of leadership skills. The core faculty includes economists, political scientists, and psychologists, enriched by professors of practice who bring real-world policymaking expertise to the classroom. The School currently offers the two-year MPP degree, as well as an accelerated MPP program and an undergraduate major in public policy and leadership. The School also offers dual degree programs with the School of Medicine (MPP/ MPH), Darden School of Business (MPP/ MBA), and the School of Law (MPP/ JD). The School currently has an endowment of $130 million.
